President Kennedy's "Peace Speech" Should Be Required Reading and Kept In Focus.

President Kennedy gave his famous "Peace Speech" at The American University in Washington D.C. in June 1963.  That was 62 years ago this month and still so relevant today more than ever.  That was the speech that JFK in his remarks said, "our problems are manmade, therefore they can be solved by man."  In the speech JFK laid out why war is not inevitable and diplomacy to solve problems is not a sign of weakness.

The speech is more important today because America has a President who dislikes diplomacy, dislikes the democratic process, the constitution, law and order and wants to be King to rule and judge all.  And just this week committed America to a war in Iran (following Israel's lead) to deny Iran a nuclear weapon that does not exist.  It was the second time Trump failed to use diplomacy with Iran.

Sixty two years ago when JFK gave that speech illustrates how American leadership has failed with the Clowns running government today.  The media in general should read Kennedy's speech over and over and then they might just realize how they have contributed to Trump's failures.  President Kennedy's speech took place five months before his fateful trip to Dallas where he was greeted with posters stating Wanted for Treason with Kennedy's picture.  There were other extreme posters against the President all by those extremist who believed in dividing the country and opposed Kennedy's efforts of diplomacy.

President Kennedy never backed down from seeking diplomacy backed up by our military's power if necessary.  He was a true leader who understood humanity when he said, "We all inhabit this small planet, we all breathe the same air, we all cherish our children's future and we are all mortal."  Those words tell the story of understanding what the future might bring.  Kennedy was sincere in seeking peace without surrender.  He recognized we do not live in a perfect world when he also said, we do not have to love our neighbor, but we all have much in common that we can agree on and therefor still live in peace.

The present administration has failed the simple test of articulating a positive policy to move the country forward.  Nothing but chaos, toxic rhetoric, incompetent people in important positions and the use of lies and misinformation as policy.  The extremist has learned nothing and as a result, the future looks like their failed past.  And that really says it all.

The Iran Problem Was Manmade By Two Unfit Leaders.

President Kennedy in a Peace Speech before the American University in June of 1963 said, "our problems are manmade and therefore can be solved by man" which was articulated by how his administration governed.  The problem concerning Iran's nuclear program was made by two men, Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu who rejected an Iran treaty that took place during the Obama administration and was then killed when President Trump during his first term withdrew from the treaty.  The killing of the treaty by Trump lifted all the restrictions placed on Iran in the treaty and his nuclear ambitions.

The problem created by those two men, Trump and Netanyahu, and their only solution to the problem they created after 8 years was war in a military attack against a sitting duck country by two major nuclear powers.  President Kennedy faced a more dangerous problem for America and its people during the Cuban missile crisis in 1962 when Russia installed ICBM missiles and nuclear warheads in Cuba only 90 miles from the east coast.  President Kennedy installed a naval quarantine around Cuba to prevent Russian ships from delivering more armaments to Cuba, had our military prepared to invade if necessary but used diplomacy as the first option.  Diplomacy worked, Russia dismantled the missiles and returned them and the nuclear warheads back to Russia which was verified by the navy quarantine.

President Kennedy's actions during the crisis indicated how a manmade (Khrushchev) problem could be solved my man without war.  Trump and Netanyahu took the position that the manmade problem in Iran they created could only be solved by war.  President Kennedy faced an Elephant problem with the Russia/Cuba missile crisis without going to war.  Trump and Netanyahu faced a Flea problem with Iran and choose the war option.

Cuba has never been a nuclear threat to the U.S. since the missile crisis ended 63 years ago this October.  And that really says it all.

President Trump, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Iran: A Rerun of President George W. Bush and Iraq.

Ten years ago in 2015 President Obama and our European allies signed a nuclear agreement with Iran to restrict Iran's ability to acquire a nuclear weapon.  The agreement had safeguards and inspections that denied Iran the ability to enrich uranium and plutonium to weapons grade level.  It was a good effective agreement with enforcements.

Israel's Netanyahu opposed the agreement, was invited to speak to congress by the GOP members and lied when he told them Iran was only months away from obtaining a nuclear weapon.  And now ten years later when Israel launched their attack, Iran has still not reached a level of enrichment of uranium and plutonium to weapons grade according to the latest report from the Atomic Energy Community who has inspected the facilities.

Donald Trump during his first term withdrew the U.S. from the treaty using the same excuses as Netanyahu and lies and Iran responded by starting to enrich uranium and plutonium to try and reach weapons grade.  Netanyahu and Trump were both wrong and if the treaty were still in effect, the unprovoked attacks would not have been necessary and in fact the treaty would have had plenty of time to even be upgraded.  But the facts remain, Netanyahu and Trump do not believe in diplomacy.  If they did, both of them had 10 years to come up with a better plan if they had one.  But no such plan was ever revealed or given to Iran.

Sixty three years ago this October, President Kennedy faced a situation with the Cuban missile crisis that was 1000 time more dangerous and or threatening than Iran when Russia installed ICBM missiles in Cuba with nuclear warheads only 90 miles from the east coast.  President Kennedy, being a veteran of WWII knew what war was all about and how this situation could get out of hand so he addressed the nation, had our military ready to respond but thought "diplomacy" should be sought first.  While "diplomacy" was being worked on, the President ordered a Naval quarantine of Cuba to stop any Soviet ships carrying any armaments to Cuba.  In the end, "diplomacy" worked, Russia removed all of its missiles and nuclear weapons and our Navy verified that all the missiles and armaments were indeed removed.

President Kennedy was not on TV every day talking about "there will be hell to pay" or assassinating leaders or lying about the threat.  Kennedy was a President and Commander in Chief who knew his responsibility to keep the country and its people safe and how to be prepared for such a situation.  That was a time of true leadership, which is lacking today.

Trump and Netanyahu are responsible for their lack of leadership for the past 10 years concerning Iran.  They lead two of the most powerful nuclear nations in the world and resorted to attacking a non nuclear power nation named Iran.  And those who suffer the most are the civilians and children of all sides who have no say so in the matter.  Their failure to seek diplomacy, failed their responsibility even though time was on their side to seek diplomacy.

President Kennedy passed the leadership test, President Trump and Netanyahu failed the leadership test on all counts as the issue they faced was a flea.

The United States Is Floundering Under A Leaderless President.

The United States under the leadership of President Joe Biden was SANE on both domestic and foreign  policy and produced a stable federal government with a true and viable direction.  All of that changed in the past 6 months of the Trump administration.  Everything has been unstable, chaotic and floundering.  His mind changes every day on every issue and the lies are more frequent.  The billionaires and millionaire clowns he appointed to important positions are unable to even articulate the purpose of their own committees.

Trump's big, beautiful bill before congress is a big fraud of what America stands for.  Both House and Senate republicans are struggling to see which one can do the most damage.  Trump stumbles on his own words when he tries to explain his own position on just about every issue.  His immigration actions are chaotic, confusion and even illegal according to some of the court judges hearing the cases.

The people understand that Trump is a Putin patsy and stooge and now recent events tell the story of Trump also being a patsy and stooge for Israel's Netanyahu.  Trump made false statements about what he knew about Israel's unprovoked attack against Iran.  First he said the U.S. had no role in the matter and then said he vetoed Israel's desire to assassinate Iran's leader K Hamenei.   He then said the U.S. may join Israel in the attack and gave Iran's leader an ultimatum to surrender.  The attack on Iran was a reminder of President George W. Bush's attack on Iraq over WMD that did not exist.

After 6 months in office there is no leadership in the White House.  America has regressed on every issue under Trump.  His trade tariffs have yet to be agreed on and approved by congress as need be.  The latest regression is Trump's use of the military to enforce local and state laws, a "military state" against the people that every past President has rejected.

Leaderless Presidents have no character or courage and that is why the U.S. is floundering and will continue to do so.  The United States (America the Beautiful) should never be led by a convicted criminal, sexual abuser, a fraudster and a President who betrayed his country on Jan. 6, 2021 when he attempted to over throw the Presidential election with his riot mob.

The country and it's people should never have to live under a President who always uses lies and mis-information as a policy for governing.

The U.S. Economy, Job Creation and The Unemployment Rate for May 2025.

The U.S. Labor Department announced that the U.S. economy added 139,000 jobs in May and the unemployment rate came in at 4.2%, same as April.  It was the 52nd month of positive job growth for the economy.  The department also announced job creation for March and April were 95,000 fewer than first announced.  We can now compare the first 5 months of the Biden and Trump administration.

In Trump's first 5 months in office, 743,000 jobs were created, including the department's adjustments.  Unemployment when Trump took office was 4%.  It was 4.2% in May, an increase of 0.2%.  In Biden's first five months in office 2,124,000 jobs were created.  The unemployment rate when he took office was 6.3% and in May it was 5.8%, down 0.5%.  The numbers favor Biden even though he had to deal with the mess Trump left him concerning COVID and Trump's economic recession.  Trump came to office in January 2025 and inherited a resilient economy and low unemployment.

The Labor Department noted in it's report the  U.S. economy and job market have proved to be resilient in recent years considering inflation and the fact that the Federal Reserve raised interest rates 11 times in 2022 and2023 which was predicted to cause an economic recession that never took place. Those words by the department are a way of describing just how good the U.S. economy was under President Biden and how broad based the economy really was.  And consumer spending stayed strong during Biden's term in office.  And the readers of PolitiDose commentary knew how well the economy would perform under President Biden.

Now, under the Trump administration, the economy is in a chaotic period of the Trump tariff fiasco, his legislation passing through the GOP controlled congress and their extreme position on every issue.  To top it off, there is Trump's appointment of unfit clowns to important positions to run government will little by little doom the economy.  It was all predicted in PolitiDose commentary in  December 2024 and January 2025.

President Trump has now been President for 53 months and as of May 2025 is still 2 million jobs in negative territory.  The people can expect the rest of Trump's second term to be chaotic and toxic.  Thanks to the media's incapability in dealing with Trump, the White House will continue to be out of control under the management of a sick leader.  And when another economic recession takes place on Trump's watch, you will have read it first here in PolitiDose, your daily dose of political Commentary.
