November Report On The Economy and Unemployment

The U.S. Labor Department announced that the economy added 120,000 jobs in November and that the jobs added for September was revised upwards by 52,000 for a gain of 210,000 and that October was revised up by 20,000 for a gain of 100,000 jobs. It was also found that small businesses are planning to add workers than at any time since September 2008.

The unemployment rate fell to 8.6% from 9% the previous month. Both the job picture and unemployment continue to improve from the worst depression since the great depression and once again it is happening on the watch of a democratic administration who has had no help from the republican party. The job numbers are a far cry from when Bush left office when job losses were running at 500,000 plus per month.

On another positive note, consumers spent a record $52.4 billion over the Thanksgiving weekend. Since consumer spending represents 70% of the economy one can see how that positive affect plays an important role in the economic recovery.

The republican Presidential candidates debates have shown that the republicans have learned nothing from their failed economic policies. As of this day they are still preaching tax cuts for Corporate America and the wealthy, eliminating regulations and trickle down economics as an economic policy. Of course they know very well that is what gave the country and its people record deficit spending and debt and the worst meltdown of the economy and record job losses and the hole the Obama administration is now getting us out of.

President Roosevelt rescued the economy, the nation and its people after President Hoover left office; President Clinton did the same after 12 years of Presidents Reagan-Bush 41 and now President Obama is doing the same thing after President George W. Bush.

The undisputed facts show that a liberal philosophy serves America and its people much better that a republican conservative ideology. And that really says it all.
