Happy Birthday Marines where ever you may be and especially to those who are still in Harms Way. To all who have ever wore the Eagle, Globe and Anchor, Semper Fidelis, Always Faithful. After 246 years the Marine Corps tradition of Honor, Duty, Commitment and Courage still stands strong for our beloved Corps and the men and women who serve.
On this birthday we remember our brother Marines who went before us and served their country well. Those that paid the ultimate price are forever in our thoughts and their sacrifice never forgotten. May the Supreme Commandant always be with them and their family.
On this 246 birthday it calls to mind the pride of being a U.S. Marine and the following poem.
THE TITLE
It can not be inherited
Nor can it ever be purchased
You and no one alive
Can buy it for any price
It is impossible to rent
And it cannot be lent
You alone and our own
Have earned it with your
Sweat, blood and lives
You own it forever
