As all attention is focused on the Presidential Race, it's important to keep in mind that in November, many Senate and Congressional seats will be up for the taking. But more important than gaining seats in Congress, is keeping those seats which Democrats currently occupy.
Now, with that being said, the general consensus is that Mary Landrieu's (D-Louisiana) Senate seat is the most vulnerable, and I, from being on the ground here in New Orleans, agree. Still, she has had a very impressive first quarter in regards to fundraising and has racked up many high profile endorsements, from both Democrats and Republicans.

^ On this I disagree. If a Democrat acts and votes like a Republican, it's time for him to be voted out. There are Democratic groups out there who are actively supporting more progressive Democratic challengers to conservative Democrats, and I must say that it's about time that the Democratic party began fighting to return to it's roots!! Good riddance to the Zell Millers and Joe Liebermans!!
^I completely agree with you about those Democrats like Lieberman. But Landrieu, although not as progressive as some might like, does not act like or vote like a Republican on 99% of issues. She has been the leading anti-war voice here in Louisiana. She has probably been the only politician who has actually cared about those affected by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. Landrieu is a great Senator. I do disagree with her on a few issues, but she is the bets Louisiana is going to get. Her and her brother, Mitch, are the only big name Dems in Louisiana.
On a side note, look for Mitch (the current Lt. Gov) to challenge David Vitter in 2010.

^My bad. I wasn't talking about her. I was talking about keeping a Democrat in power simply because they're a Democrat in general. I have no problems with Landrieu. I fact, most of the more recently elected Democrats are more progressive than some of the Democrats elected during the conservative swing of the eighties and nineties.
